Swiss citizens do not need a visa for short visits to the UK, but they must get an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling. Europeans have needed one since 2 April 2025.
Do Swiss citizens need an ETA for the UK?
Yes. Switzerland is on the UK government's list of nationalities that need an ETA. With an ETA you can visit the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man for up to 6 months for tourism, family visits or other permitted activities. An ETA does not let you work.
